The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. is organizing a very large Nordic Festival in February and for that festival a Nordic Design Exhibition is set up as well. The exhibition will show about 50 high quality Nordic Design pieces.
The curators have chosen two ames products for this exhibition of nordic design icons: The designer chairs Einn and Tveir both designed by Icelandic designer Erla Sólveig Oskarsdóttir. The design exhibition will be accompanied by a Nordic Architecture Exhibition organized by the Louisiana Museum.

The Kennedy Center is part of the Smithsonian Institute and it is the National Performing Arts Center in the USA.
About the festival: February 19 - March 17, 2013, the Kennedy Center presents Nordic Cool 2013, a month-long international festival of theater, dance, music, visual arts, literature, design, cuisine, and film to highlight the diverse cultures of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden as well as Greenland, the Faroe and Åland Islands.

Seeking to answer the question of what is "Nordic," this festival aspires to offer clarity on a region of the world whose dynamic culture and creative economy have seemed elusive to many, particularly in America. By exploring the region's cultural diversity, the Kennedy Center aims to foster an appreciation of the Nordic heritage, and an understanding of the region's emerging global influence.
