at imm cologne 2013
ames back at imm - with an eye-catching booth and another great award-winning product.
The ames trade-fair booth at the IMM Cologne (Jan. 14 – 20, 2013) will easily be found in the Pure Village in Hall 3.1 (C-007) as it’s a real attention-grabber. The stand proudly displays the ames “culture of diversity” in the form of both a strong key visual and a superb range of furniture items that are as diverse as they are unique. It’s the very first time the ames universe has been presented as a whole, and each piece can be viewed from all sides. In keeping with Icelandic designer Erla Sólveig Oskarsdóttir’s motto that a great design is “interesting to look at from every angle. From various angles the shape changes like a piece of cloth swaying in the wind.”
What better place to showcase “Tonic”, the Interior Innovation Award Winner 2013. The brainchild of Reinhard Dienes Díaz, the renowned Columbian designer based in Germany, this multifunctional shelf-&-sideboard system can be assembled with absolutely no tools required. Founded in 2002, the Interior Innovation Award is hosted by imm cologne and organized by the German Design Council. It has long since emerged as the industry prize world-wide for superlative innovative achievements; the winners will be presented in a special exhibition at imm cologne 2013 – where an expert jury will chose of them as the Interior Innovation Award – Best of Best 2013.
And ames is proud to display other contributors to its success story at the imm cologne 2013. Among them Einn which won the Premio Lápiz de Acero and Tveir, which claimed the if Product Design Award. Not to forget that Oskarsdóttir’s two chairs are among the 50 Scandinavian design icons that will go on show in February at the international Nordic Cool 2013 festival at Washington’s Kennedy Center.
Other new ames products on show at the imm cologne 2013 include the Tria chair with a new frame (the legs form a triangular footprint), the Tres table in aluminium, predestined for outdoor use, and the Cuatro table, from a family that boasts the same basic principle as Tonic.
