inspired by archetypical forms, i created my individual design language

Sebastian Herkner was born in 1981 in Bad Mergentheim, Germany. He studied product design at the Offenbach University of Art and Design, focusing on products and furniture that blend diverse cultural contexts, new technologies and traditional arts and crafts, thus showcasing the beauty of materials and detailing. During his studies, he completed an internship at Stella McCartney in London, refining his feel for materials, colours and textures. In 2006, he established his own studio in Offenbach am Main, working for clients such as Classicon, Dedon, Moroso, Fontana Arte and Rosenthal and also collaborating in interior design projects, in exhibition design projects and with museums. His work has received several design prizes, including the 2011 German Design Award (Newcomer) and the 2015 EDIDA Award (Best International Newcomer) by Elle magazine.
